That's no longer a problem.ĭreamer, the 25-pak is not the same as the MegaPak.
The big thing for me is that MIDI jazz drums RARELY sound good. It doesn't seem a stretch for them to include brass section riffs which would go a long way in making the brass useable. Rock and country don't need all the chord variations you need in jazz. funk guitar, you might just need single note lines. If you've ever used Virtual Guitar and/or Virtual Bass they get wonderful sounding playing using a combination of real players and various technologies to make it work at different tempos and pitches. There are certainly enough drum variations to do that.
#TORRENT BAND IN A BOX REAL DRUMS FULL#
The ability to just add chords and have a full night's worth of decent sounding jazz/latin/light rock backing tracks is extremely atrractive. The rest I don't need or can't stand how it sounds. I generally use BIAB for drums, acoustic bass and maybe a little background guitar. You are correct in that there are styles that aren't represented but when I look down my list of "Styles with RealDrums" it's in excess of 150. how can you record a real piano or guitar player comping with all the different kinds of possible chords (not to mention the inversions? ) I've been playing with it for the last few days. Now, you can record a drummer playing -say- a swing style, albeit with different variations for the intro, the verse, the chorus, the fills, etc and you could even record the same drummer at different tempo's (at least the most used ones for every musical genre), but. In the second place, I doubt that it will be ever possible to replace the midi tracks with samples of real players because the difference is that these tracks have to recognize the chords played. In the first place, there are only three sets of live drums, so this feature apparently doesn't apply to all the pre-existing BIAB styles.
#TORRENT BAND IN A BOX REAL DRUMS UPGRADE#
I like to make rough sketches with BIAB that I elaborate manually with Sonar.įor those who do their entire song creation in BIAB the RealDrums will be a blessing, but there's lots of other improvements in BIAB 2007 that makes it worth the upgrade for the rest of us. It's a real time saver for song framing (similar to house framing). It's a step in the right direction and I suspect we will see something similar (looped audio drum tracks) in keyboards soon.īIAB is one of the handiest music programs out there for everything from scratch SMF creation to leadsheets. The general idea is that if the drums are live-sounding then the rest of the MIDI instruments will sound more realistic. Anyway, you can hear the RealDrums here, and we are making a page with a number of demos, should be ready by tomorrow. It uses some shots (for the ending for example, Matt uses a shot instead of the typical ending). Matt Finlay made a demo, this is one of his existing BB songs, that he just played using RealDrums.
